There died at New York, June 26th, Frederick Major ELLIOTT who was born in Dufferin (Charlotte Co.) May 24, 1816. He worked and learned his trade as cabinet maker with the late Thomas CASWELL of Milltown. He went to St. John where he married Miss WISDOM. They removed to Port Chester, New York where he lived for more than 30 years, his wife having passed away about 18 years ago. Three sons survive him, Fred ELLIOTT, Andrew ELLIOTT and George ELLIOTT of New York and two sisters, Mrs. Nancy MURCHIE and Mrs. J.G. FRASER and a half brother and sister, Wm BROWN of this town and Mrs. Henry HARMON of Dakota. From his earliest boyhood he took a great interest in Sunday school, temperance and church work and was a consistent member of the Baptist church for many years.
