d. 15th Oct. 1866, age 51, Elizabeth w/o John THOMAS of Smith's Cove, Digby Co., N.S., Member of 2nd Hillsburgh Baptist Church, typhoid fever. She was followed to her last resting place by her only daughter, Georgiana, who died 28th Oct. 1866, age 25 years, also a member 2nd Hillsburgh Baptist Church, Sabbath School Teacher. The mother and sister were quickly followed by the elder son and brother, Edwin THOMAS who departed this life 17th Nov. 1866, age 24. A second son, John THOMAS, who was in the United States when his mother and sister died, arrived home the day after the brother was buried and exactly three months from the day of his brother's death, he too fell victim to the same fearful disease of which they all died. He died 17th ult., age 21. He was a Member of the Order of the Sons of Temperance. (see original)
