Andrew George BLAIR, Attorney General and Premier of the Province, the member of the House upon whom all eyes are turned, was born at Fredericton in March 1844. His parents were of Scotch origin. He received his education at the Collegiate school; studied law with his uncle, George N. SEGEE and was called to the bar in April 1866. At the general election in 1878 he was first elected to the house, but resigned on a petition being fyled against his return and was re-elected again the same year. He was re-elected on his acceptance of the office of Attorney General on 23rd March 1883 and has been in power since that time. He is a Liberal and a Methodist.
