The inhabitants of St. George who have a mania for weddings were much disappointed and disgusted on last Thursday night. It got abroad that George WILLIAMSON and Miss Annie GILMOR were to be married in St. Mark's Church. At the hour named for the performance of the ceremony, the church was literally packed. The choir were in their places, hymn books in hand; the organist gently thrummed her fingers over the keyboard as a prelude to the grand wedding march she proposed to greet the bridal party with; the rector calmly waited for the twain he was to make one flesh. The minutes dragged slowly along, but they came not. The crowd waited for nearly an hour and no bridal party appearing they dispersed. It was afterwards learned that the bridal elect drove up to the church door, looked in, and seeing such a crowded house determined she would not go in. They drove to the residence of Samuel JOHNSON, Esq. and were married.
