On Sunday morn., two lumbermen named Thomas BOOKER and Franklin ANDERSON were sent about three miles from the city to look after a raft lying about 30 rods above the camp and having attended to it, decided instead of walking back, to venture to return on a log. Having each selected a log, they started, ANDERSON being ahead. He heard a splash in the water and looking back, found that BOOKER had fallen off. From his position he was unable to render any assistance. BOOKER was observed to come up twice to the surface, but being unable to swim, sunk to the bottom of the river. Some time afterwards, the body of the man was recovered. - Fredericton 'Express'
