The crew of the vessel in which the deceased met with a premature death had been on short allowance for three weeks, having only three pounds of bread and the same of beef per week. He had been at the helm, after eating his small allowance about 15 minutes, when he fell suddenly upon the deck, and upon examination, it was found that the vital spark had fled.
