The funeral of Joseph MORRIS yesterday afternoon was largely attended. Long before 2:30, the hour set for the funeral, crowds of people began to gather in front of his late residence, 499 Main Street. Joe was one of the best known and pleasant players on the diamond. The Roses in uniform marched from the Shamrock grounds to the house, each bearing in his hand a white rose, which they laid on their companion's coffin. The order of the march and ceremonies were undertaken by Undertaker Chamberlain. The pall bearers were George HAINES, Wm O'NEIL, Harvey KEMP, Charles WALES, Wm CONNORS and Joseph LOONEY. The services were held in St. Peter's Church, the services being read by Rev. Father Kreen.
