A telegram was received here Saturday by Dr. Smith from his brother, J. Nelson SMITH, Coverdale (Albert Co.), who is at present in London, conveying the intelligence of the death of Capt. Geo. WRIGHT, who left New York for China about 18 months ago as master of ship "Annie E. Wright". Rough weather was experienced on the way out. From China, Capt. Wright sailed to San Francisco and from there to Havre. Word was received from his about two months ago at Bahia, Brazil, to the effect that he was sick and unable to manage the vessel. A captain to take his place was sent from England and Capt. Wright took a steamer for London and nothing was heard from him until the announcement of his death received Saturday. His death was caused from throat trouble and the body was buried at sea. Capt. Wright, who was 52 years of age, was a native of Albert Co. and a brother of Capt. John WRIGHT and Miss Ellen WRIGHT of this city. He leaves one daughter, Miss Annie E. WRIGHT who is now residing at Point de Bute (West. Co.).
