Members of this family were early settlers of Monmouth, N.J. Abiah EDWARDS is named in 1691 and Thomas EDWARDS in 1716. Among the family who sided with the Loyalists was Stephen EDWARDS who during the war left his home in Shrewsbury and joined the British in New York.
