d. At the residence of her son, Bayard GOUGH, Sawyer St., Boston, March 6, Catherine E. GOUGH w/o John GOUGH. Her death was caused by a most painful accident. While dusting a mantel, a lamp was knocked from its place and falling on a hot stove, it exploded, and set fire to the clothing of Mrs. Gough. Hearing her cries her son came in, but he did not succeed in extinguishing the fire until she was frightfully burned, though in his efforts his own hands and arms were burned to the elbows. Mrs. Gough lived for four days, during the most of which she was unconscious. She was a member of St. Luke's (Episcopal) Church. She leaves a husband and six children, one of whom, Mrs. E.J. RING, is a member of the Carleton Baptist Church.
