Distressing Casualty! 9th inst., Capt. STOCKPOOLE of Barque "Fasque" and Capt. MITCHINSON of the "Francis Lawson" with two of the crew of former vessel, named William KESWICK, of Liverpool and James SOUTER of Montrose, lost their lives by the upsetting of the Fasque's boat, while coming on shore from the vessel, then lying off the ballast ground at Saint Andrews, Charlotte Co., Capt. STOCKPOOLE, with two survivors, James MIDDLETON and John WILLIAMS, were taken off the sunken boat soon after the accident, by Job GARDINER who was passing in his wood-boat and heard their cries (there being a dense fog at the time). They were brought onshore and medical aid immediately procured, but Capt. STOCKPOOLE suddenly expired while being undressed. MIDDLETON landed quite active and alert and WILLIAMS speedily revived. The bodies of the others were recovered in the afternoon.
