We regret to learn of the repeated bereavements to which the family of Mr. OGILVIE of Springfield has been recently visited through the ravages of diphtheria. The disease appeared in the case of the eldest of four children of Mrs. McCREADIE, a daughter of Mr. OGILVIE who lived in the Shannon Settlement. The physician in charge directed Mrs. McCREADIE to return to her father's with the remaining children, which she did, and the little one first attacked speedily sank into the tomb. In a few days Mrs. McCREADIE was attacked with the malady returned home, only to die on 23rd ult. Another of her children quickly followed her and about the same time her sister, Miss Christiana OGILVIE was attacked. She rapidly sank and expired on the 26th. Her sister Sarah OGILVIE was also prostrated with the disease under which she still lingers, but with some prospect of recovery. During last week, Thomas OGILVIE, a young man, was prostrated and he expired on 8th inst. Three adult children and two grandchildren have thus quickly followed each other to the grave. (abridged)
