A boating accident occurred in the main river yesterday afternoon at Woodman's Point near Westfield (Kings Co.) that would have resulted in the death by exposure or drowning of four young ladies, but for the timely assistance of George McDONALD. A party consisting of Theo. CUSHING and Miss Alice MOORE d/o John N. MOORE; Miss METCALF who is visiting with Geo. F. BARNHILL and the two eldest daughters of James HOLLY, sailed from South Bay in an open sloop. (see original)
