The people of Westfield (Kings Co.) were saddened by the news that Charles PARKER, farmer, had met an accident resulting in his death. Mr. Parker lived about five miles from the village of Westfield near James Belyea's landing. About 7 o'clock yesterday morn., Mr. Parker and Capt. David ANDREWS started from Mr. Parker's house to drive to Capt. Andrew's woodboat which Mr. Parker was loading with lumber. At the top of a very steep hill, the captain suggested they get out and walk as he didn't like the appearance of the hill. But this they did not do and when about half way down the hill, the breeching broke and the horse being struck by the wagon made a violent spring forward. Capt. Andrews jumped and called to his companion to do the same. The captain alighted safely in some bushes and on looking for Mr. Parker found him lying on some large stones in the bottom of a deep ditch with the whole left side of his skull crushed in. Mr. Andrews, a widower, leaves a family of five children, the eldest of whom is but 17 years of age.
