Last Wednesday night, William RICE of Lower St. Mary's (York Co.) met with a bad mishap. He was going home from the city by way of the railway track and when near the Gibson end he somehow lost his ooting and fell off, striking some logs, 20 or more feet below. Nobody was near and so, throughout the night he lay there, unable to move, until about 4 o'clock in the morn., some train hands were attracted by his growning. Dr. Crocket was immediately summoned and ordered the injured man to be taken to the hospital. Three of his ribs were broken and he was badly bruised.
