The injuries received by Thomas F. BARKER from a runaway team on Thursday, 24th inst., resulted in his death Saturday night 9 o'clock. The immediate cause was inflammation of the kidneys, caused by internal injuries, which was about 11 o'clock Saturday morn. Mr. Barker was born at Lower St. Mary's where he died. He was Warden of the County from 1871 to 1874. He was 68 years of age. He was elected to represent York Co. in the Provincial Legislature in 1871 on the Free School ticket. In the general election which followed Mr. Barker was defeated. He was then appointed manager of the Provincial Stock Farm at Nauwidgewauk (Kings Co.) and had control since the time it was established until it was abolished. Mr. Barker was twice married. His first wife was a sister of Geo. MILES, caretaker of the bridge and the second, who survives him, was a d/o Col. Geo. HARDING of Maugerville. He had six children, two daughters and four sons by his first wife. One of the daughters was the wife of Charles CLOWES, Maugerville; two sons, Harry BARKER and Minchin BARKER, live in St. John; Albert BARKER in Moncton; and Ford BARKER in Ontario. The three first named were present when their father died.
