On Friday morn. one of the respected residents of Waterford (Kings Co.) John PATTERSON passed away. Mr. Patterson, though not in the best of health for some time past, had not been sick until the past week and still the sickness was not considered dangerous until the last moment. The deceased was 70 years of age and leaves a wife, three daughters and four sons. James PATTERSON and Maggie PATTERSON live at home. John PATTERSON is married and lives a near neighbor. Samuel PATTERSON belongs to the American Army. Talmage PATTERSON and Emma PATTERSON are in Boston and Elizabeth PATTERSON is the wife of John ELLISON of Lower Cove. Deceased was a native of Chambers Settlement, about three miles from Waterford Corner and had lived there all his life. He was a brother of Wm McAULEY of Millstream and Samuel Patterson of Mount Middleton. The funeral services were held yesterday, a short service being held in the house at ten in the morn., after which the remains were taken to Sussex where service was held in the F.C.B. church at 3 o'clock.
