The Warren, Pa. 'Mirror', Aug. 28 has this reference to the death of Charles Allison Lewis DEFOREST. Mr. DeForest passed away this morn. He had been a sufferer from diabetes for eight or nine years. Mr. DeForest was born in St. John, N.B., Oct. 7, 1859 and at an early age he studied mechanical engineering and held chief engineer papers from the dept. of the city of Brooklyn. He lived for some years in Philadelphia, then entered the employ of John Ellis & Co., New York in 1875 and was general superintendent of their extensive oil refinery for nearly ten years. Mr. DeForest's two sisters live in Kings Co. His parents, who have been dead for some years, formerly lived at Kingston (Kings Co.) His brother, George A. DEFOREST lives in Jersey City and does business in New York. The late Geo. S. DEFOREST was a cousin of the deceased. Mr. DeForest left St. John when a young man and married in the States.
