Murder of Thomas Edward WARD of New River - Ward was a man of average height and build, dark complexion and gray hair. Before moving to New River he had lived at St. Patrick in the same county. It was admitted by Mrs. Ward that she is his second wife and that he left another widow who ran away from him and is now living in the lower quarter of the city. There have been nine children, it is said, born to both wives and out of this number but two are living at New River, all others of Mrs. Ward No. 2 being dead. Thomas DOWD, the accused, about 42 years of age, was born at New River and was raised by Mr. HAGARTY Some 15 years since he owned several acres of land, but lost it all through drink. He is a laborer and has been employed in Mr. Clinch's mills at Muquash. He is unmarried. Dr. REYNOLDS, Lepreaux, Coroner empannelled the jury. Oscar HANSON, foreman; Robert DIXON, Charles F.
