Hon. Gaius S. TURNER died at Victoria Hospital 2 o'clock this morn,, age 54. Since the internal bursting Friday night of the addominal abscess from which he had been suffering for about nine weeks, he endured great pain and death was only a relief. Mrs. Turner was with her husband at the time of his death. The remains were forwarded by the 3:35 train this afternoon to deceased's house ay Harvey Bank (Albert Co.). Hon. Mr. Turner was born Aug. 12th, 1838 in Albert Co. where he has ever since lived. In 1876 he married Lucy E. STITES. Mr. Turner was elected to the Legislature in the general election of 1878. He was re-elected in 1882 and in 1883, accepted a seat in the Executive of the present Blair Government as member without office. In 1889, he having become disgusted with the manner in which the government was acting, he resigned his seat and in the general election of the following year contested Albert as opponent of the government and was again elected. Mr. Turner was a Conservative on Dominion politics.
