The death occurred at Dumfries (York Co.) at an early hour Thursday morn. of Squire William WHITEHEAD, one of the best known farmers of the county. Since last June the deceased has been in failing health. He was a native of Dumfries where he has resided all his life. He represented the parish for many years at the County Council board, being one of those who occupied seats at the incorporation of the municipality. He was a warden or a time of years. Mr. Whitehead was twice married and by his first wife he leaves one son, Amasa T. WHITEHEAD, court commissioner of Queensbury. By his second wife who survives him, he leaves three daughters and five sons. One of the latter is Frank WHITEHEAD of this city who is in the employ of the New Brunswick Lumber and Land Co., of which W.T. WHITEHEAD, a nephew of the deceased, is agent. The two other sons, Harry WHITEHEAD and William WHITEHEAD, reside at Salem, Mass. and are in the employ of the Boston and Maine Railway, and the remaining two reside at home. All three of his daughters are school teachers, but one, Miss Blanche WHITEHEAD is at present an instructress in stenography at the Fredericton Business College. Mr. Whitehead has reached the age of 82 years. The funeral took place from his old home at Dumfries on Saturday. The services were conducted by Rev. W.E. Reud.
