George HAVILAND, engineer of steamer "Nelson" did not report for duty Friday morn. He had been last seen with Joseph MANN, whose hat had been found on the steamer. Mann was found at his home with a bruised face and said he had taken Haviland to the steamer, helped him on baord and pulled off the wharf and into the water himself, and remembered no more of what happened until he covered consciousness at his own home. Men grappled alongside the wharf and found the body of the missing man about 4 o'clock. (see original for testimonies of Dr. MacDONALD, coroner, Wm CASSIDY, Mrs. Eliza HOWARD, Mrs. Susan BRIDGES, John IRVING, Capt. IVORY, Joseph MANN, Capt. PETERSON, Daniel CONDRON, Mrs. Mary McEACHERN, Mrs. Catherine WATSON)
