The Vancouver 'World' gives sketches of the new Aldermanic board showing that four of the ten members are from New Brunswick and P.E.I. To St. John Co., N.B. - Ald. F.W. SENTELL owes his birth in the year 1858. His education and apprenticeship to the carpenter trade were also received there. In 1880 he went to New York and remained working at his trade for about one year. From there he returned to his native home, but had only been there a few months when the desire to come west overtook him. His first stopping place was Winnipeg where he worked both at his trade and contract work. Since 1886 he has been working in partnership with his brother as carpenter and contractor and has purchased considerable real estate throughout tow, principally in wards 1 and 2. Last year he ran for Alderman but was defeated by one vote. Alderman J.F. GARDEN was born in Woodstock in the year 1849. He served his time in land surveying with H.B. LUMSDEN of Woodville who is now one of the leading engineers on the C.P.R. Since then he has been all over Canada, but particularly in the Northwest, engaged as a railway and Dominion land surveyor. In the fall of 1886, Mr. Garden made Vancouver his headquarters. The P.E. Islanders are Malcolm McLEOD who was born in Belfast in 1836 and W.H. MASON who was born at Southport in 1864.
