In the proper place this morn is recorded the death of Mrs. Ruth WARD which occurred at Somerville, Mass. yesterday at the advanced age of 94 years. She was a daughter of Ensign Shadrach CHASE, loyalist and was the mother of Mrs. S.R. FOSTER and grandmother of E.C. FOSTER of St. John city. Mrs. Ward resided in St. John up to the time of the fire (1877) and since that time has been residing with her granddaughter, Mrs. E.C. REED of Somerville, Mass. She retained her memory and all her faculties up to the time of her death, which was quite sudden.
