George G. COREY, the guest of Sheriff RANKINE, is a native of Saint John, born of poor but lucky parents. Being now 38 years of age, he must have been 10 years old in the year of the Cholera. In 1858, having completed his education, he gathered his substance together and proceeded to Walton, Hants Co., N.S. Here he remained four years working at the wheelwright trade. (see original)
