Jas. H. DUGAN, proprietor of the Exchange Hotel, died at 6 o'clock Friday morn. He had been in ill health for several years past and matters took a turn for the worse a few weeks ago. Mr. Dugan was a native of St. John. He came to this country over 40 years ago, conducted a hotel at Eel River, at Lower Woodstock and when the Cable house was built he took charge of it. After it burned he moved to Lower Woodstock again. A few years ago he moved to town, first taking the Queen and afterwards the Exchange hotel. He was a genial, kindly disposed man. His wife was a Miss CARPENTER d/o Coles CARPENTER of Gagetown. (Queens Co.) He leaves three sons and one daughter, now Mrs. IRVINE. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon. The service was conducted by Rev. Todd. The pall bearers were Hon. H.A. CONNELL, W.M. CONNELL, David GIBSON and W.W. HAY.
