James ROURKE is a son of the late W.H. ROURKE. He was born at Lancaster in 1846 and was educated at the common schools of the time. He removed to St. Martins some years ago and has been engaged as a lumberman and shipping merchant. His wife was Miss WISHART. He has been a member of Municipal Council for ten years and has been a warden one year. He was an unsuccessful candidate for the legislature at the general election in 1882 and 1886. Conservative and Episcopalian.
