An Inquest was held at Long Island, Kingston, Kings Co., Saturday 15th inst., before William Frost, Coroner on view of the body of William JONES, respectable emigrant from Ireland. Verdict: Died from excessive cold and fatigue. Left a widow and 5 or 6 children. On Thursday 13th inst., the deceased employed Mr. CATHLINE to draw him a load of straw to Saint John; and the deceased not ready to start on their return until sundown or after (in consequence of the severity of the weather), Mr. CATHLINE left without him. On the following day a Mr. COOK found him dead on the ice near his own landing. According to testimony, the deceased must have had about 2 pounds 14s in cash with him, but if so, his pockets must have been rifled.
