Halifax 'Herald' - A telegram was received yesterday conveying the sad intelligence of the death at Roanoake, Virginia of Alexander CAMPBELL eldest s/o Duncan CAMPBELL, author of the History of Nova Scotia of this city. Mr. Campbell was about 40 years of age. Some time ago he was employed in the Intercolonial railway office at Moncton (West. Co.) as a draughtsman. While in that town he took an active interest in the Y.M.C.A. and was one of its founders. About a year ago he removed to Virginia. His married Miss WISDOM of Dartmouth who is left with four children. Mr. Campbell left Moncton last fall in Oct. or Nov. in the hope that a change of residence would be benefitial to his health. He suffered from dypepsia. A letter from the father of the deceased to the pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Moncton states that death occurred on Tuesday.
