John McINTYRE s/o James McINTYRE was in the woods chopping with Ebenezer MINGO. He had felled a tree and awaited the fall of the one which the latter was chopping. To avoid its fall, he unfortunately ran the wrong way when, as he was jumping a windfall, it fell right across him breaking his back and killing him instantly, age 21. (Pictou Chronicle)
