Tuesday, an inquest was held before Dr. W. Bayard, Coroner, on view of the body of John FLEMMING, seaman on board brig"Ella", lying at the Breakwater. It appears the deceased in attempting to get on board his vessel the previous night, somewhat intoxicated, in company with one of his shipmates, John CONNELL, fell from the stage leading from the shore and inflicted a wound on his head by striking the rocks. Connell, being unable to get him on the brig, they both remained on the wharf during the night, Flemming being made as comfortable as possible by his shipmate. He died about two hours after he got on board in the morning.
