After a lingering illness, Miss Melinda A. BARKER died Sunday morn. last at the residence of Henry McKEEN, corner of Queen and Westmorland streets. The deceased had been suffering or some time with cancer, but had been able to be about the house until within the last few days. She was a d/o late Richard BARKER of Long's Creek and had taught school in various communities in the county. The funeral took place yesterday afternoon from her residence. Rev. Teasdale officiated.
