The Third Hebrew Wedding In Saint John - A large number gathered at the residence of Nathan GREEN yesterday afternoon to witness the nuptials of Harry J. FRANKS of Chicago, Illinois to Lizzie GREEN d/o Nathan GREEN. The bride was attended by her sister, Sarah GREEN. Rev. W.W. Brewer of Centenary Church performed the ceremony. This was necessary because the officiating rabbi, Rev. M.J. Hamburger of the Bethel synagogue, Boston is not licenced to perform marriages under the laws of New Brunswick being a non-resident. The is the third Jewish wedding that has taken place in this city, The first was that of Louis GREEN in October 1882 and the second that of Mr. Isaacs. The officiating rabbi on all three occasions has been Mr. Hamburger. (see original)
