Capt. Thomas QUIGLEY died at his home Thursday eve., being in his 48th year. During his younger days while following the sea, he suffered many hardships which no doubt weakened his constitution. He was seriously injured a year or two ago in endeavoring to stop a span of runaway horses and never seemed to be so strong afterwards. For a number of years he commanded vessels owned by the late Hon. W. Muirhead of Chatham and Messrs. Troop & Son, St. John. Four years ago he took charge of the "Terror", one of the fisheries protection fleet of the Dominion and he afterwards commanded the "C.H. Tupper". He left a widowed mother, brothers and sisters. The funeral took place on Sunday afternoon and a large concourse of people followed the remains to their last resting place in St. Mary's church burial ground.
