J.B. DULONG, a French Canadian who is engaged in putting up the heating apparatus in the Windsor new post office is a direct descendant of the exiled Acadians. Two brothers named LeBLANC were among the 2,242 souls that sailed away from the Gaspereaux on 29th Dec. 1775 (sic) nearly 130 years ago, because the would not take the oath of allegiance to the King of Great Britain. The brothers were placed in different ships - one, Charles LeBLANC, landing at Philadelphia where he amassed a fortune of 17 million and died a bachelor - the other brother being on board a ship on which the Acadians eventually rebelled. They captured the vessel and ran it into St. John and all escaped. M. LeBlanc then made his way to Montreal. Mr. DuLong's mother was LeBlanc's granddaughter. - 'Journal'
