A drspatch to the 'Globe' from Digby, N.S., Thursday says: As William LANGFORD, colored and a young lad, the s/o Walter GOODWIN, were working their way down the Weymouth River Wednesday afternoon with the intention of fishing in St. Margaret's Bay, their boat was suddenly struck by a squall and upset a short distance from the traffic bridge amd both occupants were thrown into the water. Young Goodwin succeeded in climbing on top of the upturned boat, but Langford remained in the water, clinging to the boat. He afterwards relaxed his hold and attempted to swim ashore, but disappeared before assistance arrived. Goodwin was rescued. Langford's body was recovered three hours later a short distance from the shore.
