The death of William TOWNSEND occurred 11th inst. at Chamcook (Charlotte Co.) where he had resided upwards of 50 years. He was an Englishman by birth and connected with ship building interests of Chamcook, being associated in business with his brothers, John TOWNSEND and Robert TOWNSEND, of whom only John is now living. His wife, three sons and one daughter, survive him. His remains were interred in the family lot in St. John's Chapel, Church of England graveyard Friday last. The services were read by Rev. T.E. Dowling of Christ Church, St. Stephen in the absence of Rev. Canon Ketchum, rector of All Saints.
