A despatch received this morn. stated that Capt. Robert DICKSON of American schr. "Florida" was run over by the cars at Port Liberty, New York and had one of his legs cut off. A later despatch states that he is dead. Capt. Dickson was well known here and commanded several schooners trading between St. John and the U.S. He was last in schr. "C.W. Lewis". He leaves a wife and several children who reside at Queen Street, Carleton (St. John). He was about 38 years of age.
