The death of Rev. George BURNS emeritus minister of the Free Church, Corstorphine which took place on Saturday at his residence 4 Osborne Terrace, Edinburgh - He was the last of the four brothers who were ministers of the Established Church - viz., James BURNS, Brechin; Dr. William BURNS of Kilsyth; and Robert BURNS, long of Pasiley and then of Toronto. He was born in Bo'ness in 1786 so that he had attained the age of 86. He came to Edinbugh at an early age and entering college, passed through the usual training qualifying him for the office of a ministry. In 1816 he was ordained to the charge of St. Andrews Church, St. John, N.B. where he remianed for 15 years. He returned to this country consequent upon the presentation to him by St. Andrew's University of the charge of the Tweedsmuir, Peebless, the duties of which he discharged till the events of '43 when he threw in his lot with the Free Church. Shortly after the Disruption he was called to the Free Church of Corstorphine and here he labored for 30 years, till failing health constrained him. He retired three years ago. Two sons and daughters survive him - of the former one is in New York and the other in Toronto; the elder daughter is the wife of Rev. Gilbert JOHNSTON, _hettlestone, near Glasgow; and the youngest the widow of Capt. GUTHRIE and resided with her late father - 'Daily Edinburgh Rev...'
