A telegram from Canne, France announces the death of John STAIRS at that place.About two months ago he went to the south of France for the benefit of his health. The deceased was the head of John Stairs & Co., Halifax, N.S. He was the s/o late Hon. John STAIRS and a brother of Hon. W.J. STAIRS. He leaves a large family of sons and daughters by his first wife who was a Miss MORROW. One of his sons is at present with the Stanley expedition. The deceased's second wife was a Miss PARKER of St. John, N.B. - 'Halifax Herald'
