Eastern Chronicle: The mail from Halifax Thursday brought intelligence that the sentence of death of McFADYAN for the murder of James KERR had been confirmed by Her Majesty and also brought an order for the High Sheriff for the carrying of that sentence into effect. Wednesday 20th inst. a gallow was accordingly erected about two and a half miles from town, on the lot of land at the Baeches, lately purchased for erecting a Lazaretto and there the criminal suffered the penalty of death about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
