The death of Edward GORDON, an old resident of Dalhousie (Rest. Co.) took place Sunday eve. Mr. Gordon had been in poor health for several years, but his death was unexpected, he having taken seriously ill at 4:30 Sunday afternoon and breathing his last at 11:30. He was thrown into business difficulties by the destruction of his store and stock and trade at the Dalhousie fire some years ago, but worked hard to get his business settled by payment to his creditors in full. It was too heavy a task and he had to succumb and for the past two years has not been engaged in business, his declining health rendering him physically unfit. He leaves a family of four sons and three daughters. Two of his daughters resided with him in Dalhousie, the rest of the family are in the United States. The funeral takes place today, Wednesday. He was a brother of Neil GORDON, Esq. of Northesk (North. Co.) and Robert GORDON of Chatham.
