Halifax, N.S., Feb. 12 - The death occurred this afternoon of John P. MOTT, well known manufacturer of chocolate, spices, etc. at the age of 69. He was head of the firm J.P. Mott & Co., president of the N.S. Building Society, vice-pres. of Halifax Fire Insurance Co. and director of Ocean Marine Insurance Co. He leaves a widow but no children and was worth probably $500,000.
