George McKEIL of Victoria, B.C., a former resident of this city, was badly injured by a recent accident on the Victoria and Nanaimo Railway. Mr. McKeil was a conductor on a passenger train. Particulars received by his brothere state that the train was thrown from the track on a curve because of the snow and that Conductor McKeil, who jumped, was struck by one of the cars swinging around. When picked up he was unconscious and it was feared he was dead. The doctors stated that there was hardly a square inch of his body that was not bruised though no bones were broken. His escape from death was a miraculous one. At last accounts Mr. McKeil was doing as well as could be exepected. This is the second severe injury he has sustained since going West about 15 months ago. He was at one time a C.P.R. operator at Harvey and also at Fredericton station.
