Shortly after two o'clock occurred one of the most distressing accidents that has ever taken place in this community. The victim was George ALLISON s/o late Edward ALLISON (whose widow at present resides in Halifax, N.S.) and brother of Dr. ALLISON of (St. John) city. At the hour mentioned yesterday afternoon, the deceased fell from a fourth story window in Mrs. PRICE's boarding house, on King St. directly opposite Canterbury St., struck his head first on the sidewalk and was instantly killed. The deceased in the earlier part of his life had been in good circumstances, but latterly had obtained his living somewhat precariously, doing odd jobs in book-keeping, collecting etc. For some time past he had belonged to the St. John Reform Club. Deceased was 42 years old. (see original)
