Deacon Thomas BRIDGES on Jan. 9th, at his son's residence, Jonathan BRIDGES, Sheffield (Sunbury Co.) age 89. He professed religion about 60 years ago, during the ministry of the late Elijah Estabrooks and joined the Baptist Church in Canning (now known as Canning and Sheffield Church) and was a deacon for nearly forty years. He amassed a large fortune for his three sons and at his death left bequests to the church to which he belonged for the support of the resident minister. The funeral occasion was improved by Rev. George Howard. (see eulogy)
