The R.M. Steamer "Canada" on her passage from Liverpool here was the scene of an accident causing the death of one of our young townsmen, Charles D. MAJOR, late of firm Beckwith & Major who had been to England purchasing goods with a view to commencing business in Halifax city, N.S. and then on his way out, was in common with other passengers amusing himself on deck. By some means he slipped and the fall fractured his arm in a serious manner. His constitution was unable to withstand the shock and he died Tuesday night. We believe he was a nephew of John STOREY whose decease from on board the "Pyramus" we recorded last week. - "Halifax Recorder"
