A special to the St. John 'Globe', Aug. 6th says: A sad drowning occurred near New Carlisle, P.Q. Saturday night. The schr. "Arrow", Capt. Timothy DALEY of this place, left port Saturday eve. for New Carlisle. During the night the wind from the northwest increased to a gale. When nearing New Carlisle, Capt. Daley was engaged on deck securing a water cask that had become loose. Suddenly the vessel gave a lurch and he fell overboard. The schooner was hove to and a boat sent out and search made, but nothing was seen nor heard of him afterwards. The body was not recovered. Capt. Daley was between 65 and 70 years of age. He was one of the oldest pilots of this port. The deceased leaves a widow and four small children.
