On the 7th inst., a three year old child named Mary McCLOSKEY d/o Henry McCLOSKEY, a new settler in Goshen Settlement, Sussex parish(Kings Co.) strayed from a neighbour's house into the woodsand although missed in about an hour and search immediatelymade and continued for a week by large parties of men, theonly trace of her that could be discovered was a few tracksof her feet a short distance from the house. A party of Indians was encamped a few miles from Mr. McCLOSKEY's residence at the time and the only hope of her anxious parents now is that the child may have been picked up by someof those people and may yet be recovered. She had brown hair, black eyes, light skin and round features.
