Springfield (Kings Co.) April 27 - James MOTT was taken ill with la grippe about two weeks ago, but being carefully attended by Dr. Somerville, he recovered his health. During Mr. Mott's confinement, his second son, John C. MOTT took a severe cold, which turned into membrane croup. He was only sick a few days and his sudden death has cast a gloom over the bereaved family. He was in his 18th year. As his friends were gathering round his death bed he had them sing for him 'O Happy Day' and 'Shall We Meet Beyond the River'. He died Thursday 23rd and was buried yesterday at Hatfield's Point. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. J.D. Wetmore of Wickham. The deceased was a member of the First Baptist Church of Springfield and was baptized by Rev. A.W. Hayward about three years ago.
